Bolton Wanderers

Odds on your team to be relegated from the 2017/18 EFL Championship

With the Championship season in full flow, there has been a number of surprises so far; but after a poor start, it is no surprise Bolton Wanderers are the favourites to drop out of the division.

The three relegation places at the bottom of the division are a position in which every team will attempt to avoid; but for some teams, they are simply destined for the drop.

Bolton, seem to be the Bookies favourite for the drop with SkyBet offering odds of 8/11 that Phil Parkinson’s team will be returning to League One next season. Bolton Wanderers lie in 24th place, bottom of the league after a dismal start in which they have only picked up two points from a possible 15. They’ve drawn twice and lost their three other games and seem destined to struggle in the league this season.

Burton Albion are second favourites for the drop on odds of 10/11 which are fairly indicative of Nigel Clough’s teams poor start to life in the Championship this season. The Brewers lie in 21st place after winning once and drawing once with three losses so far.

Barnsley are odds on to finish in the bottom three at 1/1. The Tykes have struggled since a number of their best players left the club during last January such as Sam Winnall and Conor Hourihane. Defender Marc Roberts left the club during the summer to sign for Birmingham City and they look set for a season of struggling.

The bookies then place Millwall at 100/30, Birmingham and QPR at 11/2 and Brentford, Bristol City, Ipswich and Reading all at 7/1. Of those teams, it would appear that Brentford would be set for the most troubling season after losing a number of key players late in the transfer window with the club currently second bottom in 23rd place.

Conversely, Cardiff and Wolves are rather high odds and are expected to finish miles away from the drop with the Bluebirds given odds of 150/1 and Wolves priced the highest at 250/1. Football is a funny old game though; you never know.
