Hull City want deals for two free agents

Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky wants to sign free agents Joe Ledley and Sebastian Bassong, according to the Mirror.

Ledley, 30, has been holding out for a move to a Premier League club but may have to settle for a top end Championship club. He was released by Crystal Palace at the end of last season.

Whilst Bassong, 31, is currently training with Birmingham City and is set to be offered a contract with the Blues. Despite this, Hull are said to be also interested in the Cameroon international and may also offer the experience centre-back a contract.

Hull have sold a large number of players this summer. These have included key players such as Harry Maguire, Sam Clucas, Andy Robertson and Tom Huddlestone. Therefore, they have been on the lookout for replacements. New manager Leonid Slutsky has made some decent signings. He has brought in players such as Michael Hector, Nouha Dicko, Fraizar Campbell and Jackson Irvine to the KCOM Stadium. But apparently the ex-CSKA Moscow and Russia manager wants more, even though the transfer window is shut.

Ledley was a key part of the Wales squad who reached he semi-finals of Euro 2016 in France. He was also highly regarded at Crystal Palace but he was free to leave at the end of last season. He has been offered moves to China, Spain and Turkey but apparently wants to continue playing his football in England. Hull City may be a potential head turner for the Welshman.

Bassong, formerly of Spurs and Norwich, is another target of Slutksy’s. He is wanted by Birmingham, so a potential move to East Yorkshire may be doubt. However, if Hull swoop in fast and offer him a better deal, could a move to Hull be on the cards?
