Former Brewers and QPR boss favourite for Cobblers vacancy

Former Burton Albion and Queens Park Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been listed as the early favourite for the managerial vacancy at Sky Bet League One club Northampton Town according to the latest odds from English Football League sponsors Sky Bet.

The Cobblers are searching for a new boss after the club sacked former manager Justin Edinburgh on Thursday following a poor start to the season.

Northampton Town are rooted to the bottom of the Sky Bet League One table after losing all four of their opening league matches in which they have conceded 10 goals in the process.

After almost 13 months at The Pirelli Stadium, Hasselbaink opted to move to Sky Bet Championship club Queens Park Rangers however the Dutchman struggled at Loftus Road and was sacked 11 months later after winning just 13 of his 47 matches in charge of The R’s. He has not managed since being dismissed by the West Londoners.
