Sky Bet League One promotion hopefuls Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of young defender Sam Hart from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee according to the Lancashire Telegraph.
The 20-year-old Horwich born left-back has signed a two-year deal Ewood Park and will immediately look to fight for a place in the Rovers starting XI.
Hart has spent the past four years at Anfield where the player has featured for the club’s Under-16, Under-18 and Under-23 sides. The player started his career with Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United however the youngster moved to Merseyside from Old Trafford in 2013.
The defender made his senior debut last season during a season-long loan spell in Sky Bet League One with Port Vale. Hart went on to make 16 appearances for The Valiants and scored his first senior career goal in a 3-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers at The Macron Stadium.
Hart is known for his tough tackling and pace in the wide positions. While the youngster is most at home at left-back, the player can also operate in a wide midfield role and will offer some versatility to Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray.
The defender could make his debut for Rovers in their local derby at Rochdale on 9 September.
