Burton complete deal for Spurs midfielder

Burton Albion have completed the signing of Tottenham’s Will Miller, according to the club’s official website.

The 21 year-old has signed a two-year contract with the the Brewers. The Championship have had a busy deadline day, having completed the signing of John Brayford from Sheffield United earlier today.

Miller is a very versatile player who can play central midfield, attacking midfield or as a striker. He spent the first part of last season on loan with Burton, scoring 1 goal in 12 appearances and played a small part in the Brewers securing their second tier status. He scored a late equaliser for Burton against Wolves in October.

Miller came up through the ranks at Leyton Orient before making the move across London to Spurs in 2012. The youngster also had an acting career during his youth. He has played for England U18s but is still yet to feature for England at any other level.

Burton have lost their key player Jackson Irvine to Hull City and were looking to replace him before the window slams shut. They may have done this through the signing of Will Miller. Burton fans will be hoping that Miller can replicate the 10 league goals that Irvine got last season.

Burton are many bookies favourites for relegation from the Championship this season. Nevertheless, boss Nigel Clough has been very shrewd in the transfer market again. He recently has brought in Joe Mason from Wolves and Sean Scannall Fromm Huddersfield, two proven Championship players. He will be hoping that them two and Miller can help the Brewers avoid relegation once again this season.
