Wolves reignite interest in Premier League striker – Leeds United linked

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Wolves have supposedly reignited their interest in Burnley striker Ashley Barnes.

Ashley Barnes has supposedly been made available to leave Turf Moor, should a club meet a valuation of a £10m price tag that Burnley have slapped on the striker.

Wolves are supposedly desperate to bring a striker to Molineux with the club only having one recognised striker at Molineux at the minute. Barnes has a record of 14

Barnes has a record of 14 goals in 94 appearances at Burnley and 42 goals in 141 appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion and would be a reasonably strong statement of intent for Wolves if they moved to bring the striker to Molinuex today.

Leeds United had been linked with the striker but with the West-Yorkshire side still trying to wrap-up a deal over Pierre-Michel Lasogga, it could leave Wolves a clear path to sign Barnes if they are prepared to spend the £10m fee that Burnley are asking for which the Birmingham Mail have reported.

Wolves have just sold striker Nouha Dicko to Hull and with Joe Mason moving to Burton Albion on loan, they have cash available to bring in a striker but it will be a matter of who they can bring in so late in the window, rather than if they will sign anybody.

With Wolves’ search for a striker set to go down to the wire, it will be incredibly interesting to see who they can manage to bring to Wolverhampton and with such limited time left in the window, it will be interesting to see how much they will pay for a striker.
