£4million Hull City signing ruled out for two months

Sky Bet Championship side Hull City have revealed that £4million signing from Liverpool Kevin Stewart is out for two months through injury. The 23-year-old suffered a recurrence of an ankle injury shortly into his comeback in the defeat at Queens Park Rangers earlier this month.

Stewart made the move to the KCOM Stadium from Jurgen Klopp’s Reds for £4million earlier in the transfer window. He has only been able to play once during that time, but Leonid Slutsky has been able to add more depth to his squad in recent days, and possibly even before tonight’s 11pm deadline even further.

Head of Medicine & Performance Rob Price confirmed the extent of the damage picked up by Stewart,

“Kevin saw a consultant in London on Tuesday regarding his ankle problem. He will undergo a course of injections but is likely to miss around eight weeks of action in total.”

In further injury news, star striker Abel Hernandez had Achilles surgery two weeks ago and is now in a protective boot, but remains out for some months yet. Will Keane is not expected back from his long-term injury until November at the earliest. Forward Evandro is still a minimum of two weeks away from recovering from a hamstring tendon problem. Following the international break, Hull take on Derby County and central defender Ondrej Mazuch will sit out that clash with a knee problem. The likes of Jackson Irvine will be making their debuts in that game, along with all the other recent recruits, and any extra too.
