QPR linked with £750k bid for forward

Championship side QPR are rumoured to be keen on a £750k bid for Blackburn Rovers forward Danny Graham, GetWestLondon sources understand.

The 32-year-old suffered relegation to League One with Rovers last season, but was one of few shining lights for the Ewood Park side, scoring 12 times in 35 appearances as his side went down with just goal difference separating them from Nottingham Forest.

Graham started in Blackburn’s opening two defeats of the season, failing to find the net and since playing back-up following the arrival of Leeds United forward Marcus Antonsson on loan as well as the impressive form of Dominic Samuel.

The former Sunderland man has been in demand all summer with a host of other Championship clubs as well as QPR interested. With just a year left on his contract, Rovers could well be tempted to cash in to avoid losing the Englishman on a free next summer.

The 6ft 1in man joined Blackburn in the summer of 2016 on a free transfer from then Premier League side Sunderland following a successful loan spell in which Graham notched eight goals in 17 games. It was his fourth loan spell after stints with Hull, Middlesbrough and Wolves respectively. He scored just nine goals in 75 league appearances during this period.

Ian Holloway’s side have been keen to add to their attacking ranks and yesterday added Exeter winger David Wheeler whilst also missing out on Wolves forward Nouha Dicko, who opted to join Hull City later that day instead.

Should a bid for Graham fall through, Holloway has also been rumoured to have been keeping tabs on Osterund’s Saman Ghoddos although the club have denied any contact with Rangers.
