Forest, Premier League side chase Forest star

Premier League side chase Forest star

Leicester City are planning a late window move for Nottingham Forest star Ben Osborn, according to the August 30th print edition of the Sun.

The attacking midfielder has developed into an extremely important player at the City Ground, and his performances for Mark Warburton’s men have attracted interest from sides higher up the food chain.

Last season, Osborn was used in a variety of roles for Forest, from wing-back to holding midfielder, and performed admirably in all of them. If Leicester do snatch the 23-year-old from their grasp, Forest will undoubtedly suffer without their versatile academy product.

The Derby-born midfielder arrived at Forest’s youth set-up in 2003, having been released by Derby County’s academy. Since making his debut in 2014, Osborn has gone on to play more than 130 times for Forest, scoring ten times.

Despite being a childhood Derby supporter, he has endeared himself to the City Ground faithful over the past few years, most notably with his stunning late strike against the Rams, which was later voted Forest’s Goal of the Season, to give his side a 2-1 victory at Pride Park.

Whether Ben Osborn does decide to make the short trip across the East Midlands remains to be seen, however one thing that is certain is that Mark Warburton’s side will be a great deal weaker without him in it.

It has been a busy transfer window for Forest thus far, as Warburton seeks to mould his squad into a hard-working, energetic unit. Having lost star striker Britt Assombalonga to Championship rivals Middlesbrough for £14 million, Jason Cummings, Daryl Murphy and Barrie McKay have been among the new arrivals at the City Ground.
