Championship side in talks to loan Sporting Lisbon midfielder

West London Sport understands that Sky Bet Championship side Fulham are in discussions with Sporting Lisbon over the loan signing of midfielder Wallyson Mallman. He has been told by the Primeira Liga outfit that he is free to leave the club as first-team opportunities will be limited this season.

The Brazilian spent part of last season away from the Portuguese club in Ligue 1 with Nice. He played a total of 19 games during that loan spell, and could be set for another temporary stint in the months that follow.

Fulham have previously been linked with the player during that time when they sold Bryan Ruiz to Sporting CP one year ago. There was discussion that a player could return in the opposite direction, with the 22-year-olds name being mentioned. The 18-time top flight champions still haven’t paid the £1million fee to Fulham for Ruiz, despite him now having played one full season at Estadio Jose Alvalade. It is thought that Sporting CP could loan them the player so they can edge closer to a settlement.

Last season, Slavisa Jokanovic did manage to prize a player away from Lisbon on loan in the form of Zakaria Labyad. He barely featured for the club during his time in the Championship.
