Cardiff City turn down Premier League offer for prized striker

Premier League side Everton have had an enquiry for striker Kenneth Zohore turned down by Cardiff City, according to BBC Sport.

The Danish under-21 front-man has been a target for another Premier League side recently, with Brighton & Hove Albion showing early interest, while the Bluebirds striker also received an offer from Hull City.

The Tigers led the early race to sign the 23-year-old, however interest from Everton and Brighton has sparked a bidding war for the highly sought-after front-man.

The Welsh side are understandably determined to hold onto him after he finished last season so well, however manager Neil Warnock stated last week it would take a bid of at least £30million for the club to let go of their starlet.

The 23-year-old earned interest after scoring twelve goals for Cardiff last season, finishing as the Club’s top-scorer last term, while he has also proved prolific in the side’s excellent start to the Championship campaign.

The Danish youngster initially moved to Wales on a loan deal, before turning his temporary stay permanent in 2016, from Belgian side KV Kortrijk. The striker played an instrumental role in the Danish youth side while at last month’s European U21 Championship in Poland, scoring two goals as the young Danes were knocked out at the group stage of the competition.

Warnock remains interested in making additions to his squad, with the 68-year-old keen to add a midfielder before Thursday’s deadline. However the experienced manager may need to make further additions with winger Craig Noone and striker Anthony Pilkington set to leave the Cardiff City Stadium.
