Sunderland suffered their second consecutive defeat in the Sky Bet Championship after falling to a heavy 3-0 loss to Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday afternoon.
Ike Ugbo, Harvey Barnes and George Moncur got the goals as The Tykes made easy work of Simon Grayson’s men in South Yorkshire.
The defeat has seen The Black Cats continue to tumble down the league table and after the match, fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment at both the scoreline and the performance.
Sell Khazri. Sell Kone. And bring in players with QUALITY and players who want to WEAR THE SHIRT. Not rocket science #safc

I hate Ellis Short and don't rate Grayson, but today's on the players, complacent, weak showing #safc

As bad as it's been today. 1st time this season where there has been a lack of effort. Not getting too upset but needs a reaction! #safc

It could be worse, I'm yet to work out how yet but it could be 🙄. #safc

Things look like they're going to get a hell of a lot worse before they get better for #SAFC

Goals have dried up and we look lost after the 1st 20 minutes of every match. Hate being a S/land supporter at times 😒😒#SAFC

Getting thumped by Barnsley is just latest in a string of embarassments: weak in all departments, especially defence. No ambition #safc

Sunderland are back in action on 9 September when they entertain Sheffield United at The Stadium of Light.
