Bolton fans react as Trotters go wandering to 4-0 defeat vs Hull City

Bolton came into this game on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Derby County that left them in 23rd place in the table. Opponents Hull City themselves on a bit of a dip with two consecutive losses, including a 3-2 reverse at home.

However, it was the home side Hull City who emerged victorious as visitors Bolton were undone by a sixteen minute, three-goal blast in the first half that left the game 3-0 to Hull inside half-an-hour. The goals from Adama Diomande (13′), Jarrod Bowen (19′) and Kamil Grosicki (29′) meant that the game was largely over for the visitors Bolton.

The Trotters did manage to plug what was becoming a very leaky dam indeed, limiting Hull to just five more shots – three of these being on-target. It remained 3-0 until late in the game when the impressive Bowen (88′) scored his second of the night to cap off both a fine individual, and equally fine team display by Hull City.

That’s not to say that Bolton didn’t have their chances, the visitors having five shots on target, but they found City’s keeper Allan McGregor in fine form – the Scot producing five saves on the night.

The scoreline was bad enough, and it was obvious that Bolton fans were going to react to the game as they saw it.
