After Leeds United sold Chris Wood to Burnley for £15m they need a new striker who can be their source of goals. Here are three strikers Leeds could sign for less than what they got for Chris Wood.
Jordan Rhodes
Jordan Rhodes signed for Sheffield Wednesday last summer for a fee of £10.5m following a six-month loan spell at the club. In his last 47 appearances (23 for Sheffield Wednesday and 24 for Middlesbrough) he’s scored just nine goals (three for Sheffield Wednesday and six for Middlesbrough). Given the fact he hasn’t had the best time at Sheffield Wednesday and he’s a year older Leeds United should almost certainly be able to get Rhodes for less than £15m given Sheffield Wednesday only paid £10.5m for him in the first place.
Although his recent record isn’t the greatest when he’s managed right and surrounded by the right players he’s more than capable of scoring a lot of goals. For example, just look at his time at Huddersfield and Blackburn.
