Hull City to confirm second arrival with Premier League left-back incoming

According to the Hull Daily Mail, Hull City are about to announce the arrival of Swansea left-back Stephen Kingsley.

The Tigers are a side struggling with both injuries and depleted ranks, 14 players having left the East Yorkshire side since their relegation from the Premier League last season. The Hull Daily Mail report that this is about to change with not only the arrival of left-back Kingsley but also of Arsenal midfielder Jon Toral.

The local newspaper go on to say that Kinglsey “is also due in East Yorkshire this morning to finalise his anticipated move to the KCOM Stadium,” mentioning that Tigers midfielder Sam Clucas is heading in the opposite direction in a deal that “could be worth up to £16.5m.”

Stirling-born 23-year-old Kingsley, a one-cap Scotland international, came through the youth ranks at Falkirk before being snapped up by the Swans at the beginning of the summer 2014 transfer window. The youngster has made 17 Premier League appearances for the Swans since signing for the Welsh side.

He also has experience of playing in the Football League after loan deals away from Swansea have seen him turn out for Yeovil Town in 2014/15 (12 League One appearances) and Crewe Alexandra in 2015/16 (12 League One appearances – one assist).

Hull City’s attention now turns back to league concerns ahead of Friday night’s home game against Bolton Wanderers, a game that pitches the relegated Tigers against the promoted Trotters.

Hull sit mid-table in the Championship, occupying 14th place and will come in to Friday’s home game on the back of two consecutive losses – the last a 2-1 reverse away at QPR. Next-to-bottom Bolton meanwhile will travel to East Yorkshire after suffering a 2-1 home loss to Derby and will be looking to gain a victory that will drag them away from the bottom three.
