Leeds United player wanted by Turkish side

With the summer transfer window heading to its final throes, action will begin to heat up. That’s the case apparently at Leeds United and with Souleymane Doukara.

Frenchman Doukara arrived at Elland Road as part of the initial wave of players brought in by former owner Massimo Cellino from the Italian leagues. Doukara arrived at Elland Road from Catania for £1.7 million after a short, initial loan fee.

Used mainly as a support striker, or impact player from the bench, Doukara hasn’t made the grandstand impact that many would have expected from the powerful Frenchman.

In his three seasons for the Whites, he is in his fourth and final season – his contract due to expire next June, Doukara has made 93 appearances and scored 18 goals.

Whilst not hitting the heights for Leeds United, this hasn’t put off potential suitors with Turkish side Osmanlispor said interested according to Turkish source Fanatik.

Fanatik’s report says that Osmanlispor have been frustrated in the first two weeks of the season, with no transfers arriving at the club. However the short article continues by stating that the club are looking to add “Souleymane Doukara to the colors for the striker position.”

Fanatik goes on to report that Osmanlispor “is reported to be in the final stages of negotiations with French footballer, and the transfer will be announced shortly.”

Doukara hasn’t featured for Leeds United’s this season, the striker seemingly not in new head coach Thomas Christiansen’s plans. There are murmurs that he could feature in tonight’s Carabao Cup tie away, but at Elland Road, vs. Newport County.
