Leeds United one of four clubs interested in £10 million winger

Championship side Leeds United are one of four clubs interested in signing West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass this summer, according to the Daily Record.

Snodgrass, 29, signed for West Ham for £10 million in January but has been told he is free to leave the club this summer.  The Hammers have brought in several new players already, with Snodgrass facing the fact that he is now surplus to requirements at the club.  The winger did not make the squad for West Ham’s defeat to Manchester United last weekend.

There is no shortage of clubs willing to sign Snodgrass this summer, with four sides leading the chase.  Premier League teams Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United, along with Championship sides Aston Villa and Leeds United, are all in the hunt.

It is understood that Snodgrass would prefer a move to Newcastle, where he could link up with Scotland teammate Matt Richie.  Magpies boss Rafa Benitez is still in the market for new signings as he looks to avoid a relegation fight this season.

Despite reportedly preferring a move to Newcastle, Snodgrass has a lot of history with Leeds United.  The winger signed for the club in 2008 and was part of the team that won promotion back to the Championship in 2010.  Snodgrass scored 41 goals in four seasons at Leeds before signing for Norwich City in 2012.

Despite failing to find form at West Ham, Snodgrass is a player who could offer a lot to a Premier League side.  Before making the move south in January, the winger had scored seven goals and registered three assists in 20 top flight games for Hull.
