Villa fans react to their 2-1 defeat at Reading

Aston Villa went into last seasons campaign after being relegated from the Premier League, after what can only be described as a disastrous season.

‘The Villans’ however, had high hopes of returning to the top-tier of English football at the first time of asking, but unfortunately for their loyal fans, finished 13th, way below what everyone expected, and subsequently find themselves in the Championship for a second season.

Even after the failings of last time out, however, Villa were many people’s favourites to win the league before the season begun, but haven’t started in the best way, drawing 1-1 with Hull on the opening weekend, losing 3-0 to Cardiff last weekend and losing again last night 2-1 away at Reading.

Many fans thought that last night could be the turning point, especially when you bear in mind that reigning champions Newcastle United lost their opening two games before going on to win the league, but it wasn’t meant to be, and although we are only three games into the new season, it looks like Villa fans are losing faith already.

Many are calling for manager Steve Bruce to be sacked already.

Some twitter users are also suggesting that the club could be in a relegation scrap this season, with some rival clubs supporters also chipping in.

Although it’s not been the best of starts, there’s a lot of football to be played between now and May, and in my opinion, Villa will be there or there about’s, come the end of the season, but will want to turn around their poor start around as quickly as possible before it costs them dearly.
