Leeds United fans react to McContract/#44 rumours – divided opinions

Leeds United continue to be linked with all and sundry as fans wonder when a centre-back is coming in to the club and when the club are bringing cover/alternatives for Chris Wood up front.

Defensively it has been all about Filip Helander and Aden Flint whilst up front it was all about Pierre-Michel Lasogga. Until now that is, until now. Enter a definite blast from the Leeds United past.

The Spirit of Player Past has materialised in the form of former White Ross McCormack, a player who left Elland Road in 2014 for Fulham – a fee of £11 million changing hands. According to the Daily Mail’s ‘Mail Online’ transfer column, “Leeds have asked about Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack.”

Since that revelation, Twitter has gone into a mini meltdown as Leeds fans discuss the merits, and pitfalls, of bringing former White McCormack back to a more stable Elland Road. Some fans are all for it, citing his goals and love of the club; others are all set against it and saying that it is a move not in Leeds’ benefit.

It is true that McCormack has goals in him, as the following video shows.

But are goals enough to soothe the bitter partition that Leeds fans are feeling over even the slightest chance of a McCormack return?

And finally there’s always one fan you can rely on to remind you of the walls that McCormack would have to climb to get back to eland Road.
