Burton Albion in talks to sign Fulham striker for the second time

Burton Albion are in talks to sign Fulham’s Cauley Woodrow on loan for the second time according to a report from Sky Sports.

Last season, the 22-year-old striker moved on loan to the Brewers during the January transfer window as they looked to stay in the Sky Bet Championship. The move would end up being a great success for both parties as Woodrow not only played well as he netted five times in 14 appearances but he also helped Burton to stay in the division, something no expected at the start of the season.

There were doubts though that Woodrow would be returning to the Pirelli Stadium though as Fulham wanted to take a closer look at him during the summer, especially as one of their weaknesses last season was their lack of firepower up front. But with the Cottagers being able to sign Aboubakar Kamara from French side Amiens while remaining confident of landing Diego Rolan from Toulouse, though the player is reluctant to head to West London, they now feel happy once again sending Woodrow out on loan.

While Burton are disappointed that they won’t be able to sign Woodrow on a permanent deal like they initially wanted, they have jumped at the chance to bring him back to the club on a loan deal. The Staffordshire club are now in talks with Fulham as they look to once again have the striker playing for them. They really need some extra firepower as well following a poor start to the season which suggests they will be in the thick of a relegation battle once again.
