When Andrea Radrizzani took over Leeds United, seizing the full ownership of the club from Massimo Cellino, fans were hoping for massive change. They are getting it.
Already the ground has been brought back under the wing of the club, signings are being made for both the first team and the Under-23 Development squads, and Elland Road has been brought more into the 21st century with a bit of a sprucing up/makeover.
One thing that Radrizzani has also done is reverse the direction taken by previous owner Cellino to bring back a women’s football side back under the official auspices of the club – a deal announced in late June this year.
Leeds United managing director Angus Kinnear said of the move: “We are pleased to welcome Leeds United Ladies back into our family…It is important that the club is represented in the leagues and we hope this move will encourage more young girls to get involved in football.”
On Sunday, Leeds United owner Radrizzani took time out to check out the Leeds United Ladies in their final friendly fixture ahead of their 2017/18 league campaign. The Ladies were taking on Harrogate Town at the CNG Stadium.

The game ended in a 3-2 win for Leeds United Ladies, but it was also a day where Andrea Radrizzani continued to spread the positivity around all aspects of the club that he has taken over – including the incorporated women’s side.
Leeds United fans comment on Radrizzani tweet – much positivity
