Wolves are looking to sign Norwich City’s Nelson Oliveira as well as Sheffield Wednesday’s Jordan Rhodes according to a report from the August 13th print edition of The Sunday People.
Last Sunday, reports emerged that Wolves were looking to sign Rhodes from Sheffield Wednesday, with the belief being that they could get him due to his underwhelming first few months with the club. Even though the Owls made a statement on Saturday by starting Rhodes in their match against QPR to show they weren’t willing to sell, Wolves remain confident of getting him. But he isn’t the only striker that the Black Country club are looking to sign.
They are also looking to add Oliveira to their club as the club is looking to add a lot more attacking threat to the club. While they have already signed Leo Bonatini on loan from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, their head coach Nuno Espirito Santo still thinks they need more goals even though they picked two wins in two games to start off the season. This is why they are looking to sign Oliveira as well as Rhodes this summer.
As well as the two teams who may not be willing to sell, Wolves may face another obstacle in getting these two strikers at Molineux. With the club already spending a lot of money this summer, most notably £5 on Ruben Neves, they could end up being unable to sign either of these players due to Financial Fair Play. So if they want to sign both players, they will need to work out a way around these rules.
