QPR have had an offer worth £750K for Blackpool’s Bright Osayi-Samuel rejected according to a report from journalist Alan Nixon.
It’s been reported for a while that the R’s have been interested in signing Osayi-Samuel which made a lot of sense considering the great form he was in last season. The 19-year-old winger, who came through the club’s academy and broke into the first team in 2015, scored five goals in 42 appearances for the Tangerines last season and was a key reason why the club finally got something to cheer after years of misery.
This sort of form combined with his young age is always going to attract plenty of attention and that’s when QPR became interested in signing him with head coach Ian Holloway plotting to raid his former club. And at last, the West London club decided to make their interest more concrete by making an offer worth £750K as they looked to tempt Blackpool to sell. But it was not enough, as the Lancashire club decided to reject the offer.
Now the ball is back in QPR’s court as they look to decide what they are going to do next. If they really believe that Osayi-Samuel is a potential star that they can’t miss out on, they could go back in and make an improved offer. However they may decide that they can get better value for money elsewhere and move onto another target. This would be the ideal thing to happen for Blackpool who are desperate to keep hold of the young winger.
