Alex Neil not happy with ticket prices at Elland Road

After Preston’s draw with Leeds yesterday, Preston gaffer Alex Neil revealed that he thought the ticket prices at Elland Road are “wrong”.

The closely contested game between the two sides ended 0-0. 697 Preston fans made the trip, but a lot of North End fans were put off going to the game due to the Leeds charging £39 for a ticket. If an adult Preston fan bought a ticket on the day they had to pay £44.

Preston manager Alex Neil wasn’t happy with the ticket prices and he stated ” The fact our fans got charged £44 a ticket was a disgrace.

” If you’re a family of four, and a normal working family, that is a lot of money.

” The guys who did pay their money and came and backed their team, I hope they were very proud of the lads.

He continued ” We certainly don’t charge that much for away fans coming to watch their team (Preston charge £24.) It is wrong, and I’m unhappy.

” We wanted to have as many fans through the gate as possible, now if the prices were different it might have added another 500 fans who wanted to watch their team.”

Many fans say ‘ Twenty’s plenty’. No one should have to pay £39 or £44 to watch their team play. Ipswich agreed a deal with 12 Championship clubs in July. The agreement was that they would cap the price of away tickets for adults at £25. However, some clubs like QPR rejected the offer

Alex Neil’s side currently sit 9th in the Championship while Leeds sit one place above Preston in 8th. Preston travel to Derby on Tuesday while Leeds host Fulham.
