QPR have signed Kazenga LuaLua on loan until January 2018. This is the 26-year-old’s second stint with the club. He was on loan with Rangers last season as they finished 18th in the Championship.
LuaLua started his career with Newcastle United. While he was with the Magpies he went out on loan to Doncaster and Brighton. The Kinshasa-born midfielder signed permanently for the Seagulls in 2011 for an undisclosed fee. He made eleven appearances for the R’s last season, and he scored one goal for Ian Holloway’s side.
QPR gaffer Ian Holloway said this “I am absolutely delighted to have Kaz back.
“I wasn’t actually sure it was going to be possible because he had such a good pre-season with Brighton and it was touch-and-go whether they were going to let him go out again.
Holloway continued “He is in a really good place after getting a very good pre-season under his belt. This is a great opportunity for us.
“Some of the times when we used him last season, he turned games for us and I would prefer him to do that from the start of matches, rather than as a sub.”
While LuaLua said “It’s good to be back. I know the boys here, I know the manager, so this was a very easy decision for me.
“I went back to Brighton to do pre-season and see how things would go, but in my mind, I always wanted to come back to QPR.
He added “My pre-season went well, but it’s about playing games. It’s not about me staying at Brighton because they are in the Premier League, I want to get out and play, and enjoy my football.
“I am happy to be here and hopefully I can help the team.” pre-season under his belt, and this is a great opportunity for us.
QPR beat Reading on the opening day of the season, and they beat Northampton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. The R’s face Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough tomorrow.
