Bolton & Charlton declare interest in unwanted Rangers midfielder

The Daily Mail understands that out of favour Rangers midfielder Harry Forrester has English clubs wishing to sign him. Sky Bet Championship side Bolton Wanderers are keen on a deal, as are Charlton Athletic as well. The player has been told that he doesn’t feature Pedro Caixinha’s plans at Ibrox.

Another Championship club, Burton Albion, have previously been linked with a move for Forrester, however they have made no official move for the player as of yet. The 26-year-old last pulled on the famous blue jersey back in March in the 4-0 home victory over Hamilton Academical.

An unnamed club in Scotland also made their interest known in the former Brentford and Doncaster Rovers man, but he rejected the move in the hope to fight for his place with the Glasgow-based club. However it would appear he is now resigning himself to not featuring any time soon and would like to move before the transfer window closes.

Certainly in the case of Bolton there is reason to suspect they may want a player such as Forrester. Josh Vela has already suffered a serious injury, ruling him out for a prolonged period of time. The former Aston Villa youngster therefore could be seen as the perfect replacement. He would also certainly gain regular playing time at Charlton under Karl Robinson, perfectly fitting the DNA for the type of player that ex-MK Dons boss flourishes with.

It was just over a year ago that the played signed a new three-year deal at Ibrox. Rather than playing out the final two-years, it would appear a move away is his best chance of playing. Bolton or Charlton appears to be the decision he has to make.
