Swindon have completed the signing of Kaiyne Woolery. The 22-year-old has signed for £350,000. He has signed a three-year-deal with the League Two side.

It was being reported that Forest Green were interested in signing Woolery. He scored a brace for Forest Green last season in the National League play-off final as they beat Tranmere 3-1. Forest Green were prepared to splash on a club record fee for the player, however, he has joined Swindon instead.

Woolery started his career with Maidstone United. He joined Tamworth in 2013, and he played nineteen games in his first season with the club. However, he fell out favour at Tamworth, and he went out on loan to Stafford Rangers and former club Maidstone.

Woolery got his big move to Bolton in August 2014. He went out on loan to Notts County where he failed to score in five appearances. The Hackney-born striker played 20 games for Bolton in the 2015-16 campaign and scored twice as they were relegated, to League One. He signed for Wigan on Deadline Day in 2016. He was on loan with Forest Green Rovers last season, and he netted four times for the club.

Woolery has become Town’s eleventh of the summer. Swindon have already signed James Dunne, Chris Robertson, Amine Linganzi, Paul Mullin, Olly Lancashire, Chris Hussey, Ben Purkiss, Harry Smith, Donal McDermott and Kyle Knoyle. Manager David Flitcroft said that the former Bolton striker was his “main target.”

Flitcroft also said “I can only thank the Chairman for the commitment he’s shown to me as a manager and to the football club.

“We’ve tracked him for so long and what I felt the team needed is a cutting edge and outstanding raw pace,”

Woolery said this about his move “I’m delighted to sign for such a big club,”

“The biggest attraction for me was how much the manager wanted me. He’s been calling me a lot and he came up to see me.

Woolery added, “He told me his plans and how I fit into his plans and that really attracted me.

“It has been going on for a few weeks now, so I’m just happy to have got it all sorted.

“I got a promotion last year and I came here to get another one.”

Swindon won their opening game of the season beating Carlisle 2-1 at Brunton Park. The Reds face Norwich tomorrow at Carrow Road in the Carabao Cup.
