Charlton sign midfielder from MK Dons

League One side Charlton Atheltic have signed attacking midfielder Ben Reeves. He has signed a two-year deal with the club. He is also reunited with Karl Robinson who previously managed him at MK Dons.

Reeves began with Southampton where he made five appearances. While he was with the Saints, he went out on loan to Dagenham & Redbridge and Southend United with him having two spells with the latter. MK Dons signed Reeves in 2013 after he was released by Southampton.

He was part of the Milton Keynes Dons side which won promotion to the Championship. During his time with the club, he won Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, MKDSA Player of the Year and Goal of the Year.

Charlton gaffer Karl Robinson said this about the move  “He is someone that has won a Player of the Year and a promotion with me.Therefore  I know him very well,”  “He knows the system I play, knows me and he knows what we are trying to achieve here.

Robinson added “I want to thank the board. This was a deal they really wanted to do as well. It was one that was really backed by the club.”

While Reeves said,“It feels great to sign,”. “It’s done now – that’s the most important thing – and now I can really focus on the football side of things.

“I know Karl really well. The relationship between managers and players is really important. Hopefully, Karl can lead us in the right direction and I want to be part of that.”

Charlton will be looking to push on this season. After a disappointing campaign last year, Charlton will be looking to win promotion back to the Championship after relegation in 2016.
