Young Forest defender loaned to FGR

Young Nottingham Forest defender Alex Lacovitti has joined English Football League new boys Forest Green Rovers on a season-long loan deal according to the Nottingham Post.

The 19-year-old Nottingham born defender is a Scotland Under-21 international while the player made his first two senior appearances for Forest last season.

Lacovitti was expected to join local rivals Notts County on a season-long loan deal for the upcoming campaign however it has now been reported that fellow Sky Bet League Two outfit Forest Green Rovers have snapped up the player.

The youngster is a product of the Nottingham Forest academy system and Lacovitti made his senior debut for The Reds in the 4-3 victory over Burton Albion at The City Ground on the opening day of last season. The player went on to join Mansfield Town on a short term loan deal last August and the defender made eight appearances for The Stags.

Lacovitti is very much one for the future at Forest and the move to Forest Green Rovers should allow the player to experience regular first team football. The Gloucestershire outfit are expected to do well in their first season in the English Football League and are fancied to achieve at least a top half finish come May.
