Bradford City will be hoping that they are challenging for promotion when this season comes to an end, but this season has an air of uncertainty that is sitting in the back of fans minds.
An honest review of the Bantams pre-season would be that it has been a mixed bag. You can never come to any immediate conclusions in pre-season as to how a clubs campaign will pan out. Players will meet each other for the first time in the same kit, they’ll have a new system, a new philosophy and a new badge on their shirt and furthermore; they’ll be managed by somebody who is a complete stranger to them (usually).
When you consider all the above, it’s quite clear how difficult it is for a player to move straight to a new team and to showcase their class and ability immediately. Add this to the fact that there is often a much more relaxed feel around pre-season – which in the case of Bradford City was evidenced by their players somewhat impressive night out with the fans in Echterdingen; Germany.
Jake Verity looks into Bradford City’s pre-season campaign and draws out five things that stand out from the Bantams preparation for this upcoming campaign.
