Reading

Potential Reading XI for the opening day

Last season Reading along with Huddersfield were both surprise packages of the Sky Bet Championship season, finishing third and fifth respectively.

They both also won their play off semi-finals, and met each other in the play-off final, where Huddersfield won on penalties to take them to the Premier League for the first time.

However, even though the season ended in disappointing fashion, Reading still had a hugely successful campaign and will want to build on that this season.

There are several new faces arriving at the Madejski Stadium, and manager Jaap Stam has signed a contract extension, so things are looking positive for another promotion push, and here’s how I think they could line up on the opening day away at Queens Park Rangers, in a 3-5-2 formation.
