Bogle set for QPR switch after Wigan fallout

WIGAN Athletic striker Omar Bogle will miss out on a dream return to Blundell Park after being left out of the Lactics’ squad to face Grimsby Town in a pre-season friendly tomorrow, reports the Grimsby Telegraph.

The 24-year-old took to Twitter to voice his frustration at being frozen out at the DW Stadium, just days after telling the Latics’ official website his delight to be heading back to Cleethorpes for the game.

What would have been a return of the native, with Bogle returning to the Mariners, for whom he had a very successful spell before moving away from North East Lincolnshire and into Lancashire with Wigan, now is destined not to happen. On not being selected to travel by the Latics, striker Bogle said: “[I’m] Gutted to say I won’t be playing on Saturday. Can’t say why at the moment.”

Earlier this week, Bogle had spoken excitedly about returning to Blundell Park.

“I am buzzing to go back; everyone knows how much the fans love me and how much I love them so I am buzzing to go back for what will hopefully be a good reception for me,” he stated.

“We had a great relationship and I have a lot of good memories at the club.”

But Bogle was quick to quash any rumours of a fall-out with Wigan boss Paul Cook, although speculation is rife that the former Solihull Moors man will be on the move before the start of the season with Championship sides QPR and Ipswich amongst the frontrunners for his signature.
