The launch of any new kit is one of those times that supporters of a club get all giddy and start reaching for their wallets in drooling anticipation. Today is no different for Leeds United fans.
This morning, at 9:30, Leeds fans sat waiting for the club to launch next season’s away kit. The preceding days have seen Twitter awash with Leeds fans producing ‘mock-up’ kits and expressing their preference as to what kits they wished to see.
The preference, among many, was for a little number in black.
What they got was this.
📰 #LUFC are pleased to unveil the 2017/18 #allblack away kit, which is available to purchase now. Check it out at https://t.co/9fn69kVqvf pic.twitter.com/HL1co1d3KH

It is just what many had been wanting, a little black number. Whereas the home kit is white with gold trim, this away kit is a much more simplistic, some might say less garish black-and-silver combination.
Obviously it didn’t take Leeds United fans long to air their opinions on the new kit, and Twitter was quickly flooded with Whites fans saying what they thought.
Leeds United fans comment on release of new kit
Many fans are very accepting of the new kit, and a return to black that hasn’t been seen since the days of sponsorship by Enterprise Insurance.
😍😍😍

Not all fans are taken by it; to be honest some are not taken at all by the choice of black as the main colour.
It’s nice but just not our colours!! #lufc

Should be all yellow. Bad move imo

Not a fan. Black isn’t a Leeds away shirt. Third maybe. Not a 2nd though. Pity

Yellow or blue, it’s not hard lads
— Sam Swales (@Swales_) July 28, 2017
Nah I’m out this is fucking ridiculous

Whoever sanctioned that needs to go right now, They obviously don’t know the club they work for

As is usual with Leeds fans, there’s what Nicholas Parsons would say was ‘a difference of opinion here’. Whilst many are open and accepting of the new shirt in black, an equally vociferous number of Leeds United fans seemingly see it as something of a travesty.
