Shrewsbury Town want Wolves striker on loan

Shrewsbury Town are interested in signing Wolves’ Niall Ennis on loan according to a report from the Express & Star.

The 18-year-old striker is highly rated by the youth coaches at Wolves and it is believed that he will be able to break into the first team later down the line. However while he has been around the first eleven for the last year, the new signings that Wolves are making are pushing him down the pecking order and will limit his chances of getting those crucial appearances.

That means Wolves are willing to let him leave on loan. They know that at this stage of his career, Ennis needs first team football to grow as a player so he can become a regular at Molineux later down the line. And it appears that he will be making a very short move to Shrewsbury so he can get those appearances so he can become a better player.

The Shrews are openly looking for a new striker, their head coach Paul Hurst has admitted as much, and Ennis looks like the ideal option. While he hasn’t played much competitive football and it may take him some time to get up to speed, it is believed he could be a very exciting to his addition to the squad. The locality of the two clubs could be helpful for this move as well. The two teams do have a good working relationship and usually play friendlies against each other with the Shrews getting a shock 2-0 win over Wolves this summer, meaning a loan move would be easily done between the two sides.
