Leeds United and Burnley agree on fee for outcast defender

Leeds United and Burnley have finally agreed a fee for the move of Charlie Taylor as confirmed by the club website.

The 23-year-old’s move to Burnley had been of the sagas of the summer. He was coming to the end of his contract with Leeds and as they didn’t get promoted to the Premier League, Taylor decided to leave and even refused to play in the final game of the season in order to force his pint. Several teams were interested in him though it was Burnley who wrapped up a deal to sign him.

However because of Taylor’s age, a fee had to paid for Leeds and this is where issues arose. The two clubs struggled to come to an agreement on a fee and in the end, a tribunal date was decided so that a compensation fee could finally be set. But now the two clubs have come to an agreement on the fee so that a tribunal is no longer needed and Leeds now have some money for one of their top players in recent years.

While the fee has been left undisclosed, it is expected to be for a decent sum considering how important a player Taylor was for Leeds. And now that the West Yorkshire club have that fee, rather than having to wait for whatever the tribunal decided, they can now use that money on strengthening the squad and making sure that this year they don’t miss out on making the play-offs like last time out.
