Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper described as future England number one wanted by Manchester United

Bolton Wanderer’s Jake Turner is being tracked by Manchester United according to a report from journalist Alan Nixon.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper is not very well-known outside of Bolton but if he fulfills his promise, everyone will soon know about him. Many believe that he is one of the best young goalkeepers in the country and that if he progresses like they think he will do, he won’t just be the number one goalkeeper for Bolton, but also for England.

But of course, a player tipped for big things like that will always be attracting interest from teams higher up the league ladder. And so it will be no surprise to Bolton that Manchester United are now skulking around looking to sign the young star. They have been known to sign some of the best youngsters across the country for their academy so they can have them all to themselves and Turner could be the latest player heading to Old Trafford should they come up with the right deal for him and the club.

However Bolton will want to keep hold of Turner as they know he could end up being a star player for them in the next few years. It’s likely that they will tell Turner that he has a better chance of breaking into the first team at the Macron Stadium, perhaps even pointing to the example of Sam Johnstone. He is a highly rated goalkeeper who is yet to break into their first team because of the sheer quality of people ahead of him in line.
