QPR forward linked with a move to Reading

According to the Reading Chronicle, Idrissa Sylla could be on his way to Reading. He scored ten goals for the R’s last season as the club finished 18th in the Championship.

Sylla was left out of the clubs pre-season trip to Germany which has raised questions over his future. The Royals are reported to be interested in bringing the Guinean to the Madejski.

Reading have already signed striker Jón Daði Böðvarsson from Wolves. However, last seasons top goalscorer Yann Kermorgant is out of action for the first couple of months due to surgery. Therefore Jaap Stam is looking to sign a striker who can fill in for Kermorgant and Sylla is capable of doing that.

Sylla started his career with French side Le Mans. He went out on loan to Bastia for the 2010-11 campaign. He scored seven goals in 29 appearances for Bastia. Sylla was given a chance by Le Mans during the 2011-12 season.

He impressed that season scoring nine goals in 28 appearances. The Guinea international signed for Belgian side Zulte Waregem in June 2013. He spent two seasons with the club and scored eighteen goals in 64 appearances.

In February 2015 Sylla signed for Anderlecht. In his first season with Anderlecht, he scored seven goals. He scored two goals in three games for Anderlecht at the start of the 2016-17 season, but he signed for QPR on August 30th.

If he signed for the Royals he would become their fourth signing of the season. They have already signed Pelle Clement, Jón Daði Böðvarsson and Vito Mannone. Reading will be looking to win promotion from the Championship this season after play-off heartbreak last season.
