Reading make £4m bid for Brighton and Hove Albion striker

Reading have made a bid worth £4m for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Tomer Hemed according to a report from The Sun.

While the Royals have a very popular striker in the shape of Yann Kermorgant, their head coach Jaap Stam is looking bring more forwards into the team to support him and make sure they get promoted this time around. They suffered a huge disappointment last season when they lost to Huddersfield Town on penalties in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final and won’t want that to happen again.

And so Reading have made an ambitious £4m bid to try and sign Hemed. The Israeli international was one of club’s most impressive performers last season as he scored 13 goals, helping the Seagulls get promoted to the Premier League after several years of narrow misses. But his future is in doubt with just one year left on his current deal and with there being the risk he doesn’t adjust well to life in the top tier, the club may look to cash in now and get some money for the player.

That’s what Reading will be hoping as they looking to snap him up. After coming so close last year they know they need extra quality to make sure they don’t have to go through the lottery that is the play-offs once again. Hemed has shown that he is a very good player in this division and that his goals could end up being the difference to whether the Berkshire club get promoted or not.
