Leeds United and Norwich City battling Premier League competition for former winger

Championship outfit Leeds United are reportedly set to battle Premier League new boys Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion among other clubs to bring 29-year-old former winger Robert Snodgrass back to the club on a permanent deal, according to Football London.

The 29-year-old Scot raised eyebrows with some scintillating form for Hull City last season under Mike Phelan, with his 9 goals in 24 games giving Hull fans hope they might beat the drop, but after considerable interest in January, Snodgrass left the club for West Ham on deadline day, and The Tigers never really replaced him, and Marco Silva was unable to keep the club up after replacing Phelan.

However, the grass wasn’t greener on the other side for Snodgrass, who never managed to replicate the form that earned him his £10 million move for The Hammers, failing to register a goal in 15 games for the London Club.

Now Slaven Bilic is looking to cut his losses with the Scottish international, and Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen is looking to continue his summer spending spree by bringing the former Norwich City winger back to Elland Road.

Snodgrass made 168 appearances for The Whites between 2008 and 2012, scoring an impressive 35 goals during his 4-year stay at Elland Road, and Leeds fans will be hoping they can fend off interest from multiple clubs to bring the Scot back to the club this summer.

Newly-promoted sides Newcastle United and Brighton are both looking at the 29-year-old, as are Championship rivals Norwich City, who are also interested in bringing back their former winger.
