Championship: Five “Signings of the Summer” so far

The summer transfer window is a time for rebuilding, recreating and reorganising each Football League team’s squad for the forthcoming campaign with more often than not hope of one thing; promotion.

This window has been one of particular interest in the Championship, with it looking likely that there could be around eight or nine sides who could make a run-in for the top-two this season.

Newly relegated Hull City, Sunderland and Middlesbrough will all be heavily fancied to make a charge back into the Premier League this season. With Sheffield Wednesday missing out in the playoffs again, they’ll be aiming to go up automatically and teams like Aston Villa, Derby County, Reading and Fulham will all believe they are in with a chance of getting into the Premier League.

With every side in the Championship trying to attract new players to their club who can impress during this upcoming season, there has as always been plenty of money spent and a lot of movement around in the transfer market.

Here, we round-up five transfers which may be the five stand-out moves in this transfer window; so far.
