MK Dons snap up Nottingham Forest winger on loan

MK Dons have signed Gboly Ariyibi on loan from Nottingham Forest for the season as confirmed by the club website.

The 22-year-old winger was a star player for Chesterfield not so long ago and that earned him a big move to Nottingham Forest in January. However he struggled to get into the first team and wasn’t able to have much impact as the East Midlands side battled against relegation, only avoiding the drop on the final day of the season. And with first team football not looking likely this season, he has headed out on loan to make sure he gets some time on the pitch.

And he has decided to head to MK Dons where he will be for the next season. They had a disappointing year last time out as they failed to challenge for promotion after dropping back into Sky Bet League One but will hope to be back at the right end of the table this season. And Ariyibi will hope to be a big part of that.

After signing for MK Dons, Ariyibi said: “I’m very excited,”

“I want to be playing games, plus the gaffer really wanted me to come here and that gives me a lot of belief.

“I’d like to think I’m an exciting player and hopefully get people off their seats.”

His new head coach Robbie Neilson said: “We’ve been working on this one for quite some time so we are delighted to finally get the deal completed.”

“Gboly will bring another dimension to our squad with his explosive pace and aggression in 1v1 situations.”
