MK Dons have signed Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell on a season-long loan deal.
The defender is a product of Wolves academy. He went out on loan to Bury for the 2012-13 campaign. Ebanks-Landell played 26 games for Bury, but he couldn’t help the club avoid relegation to League Two. The 24-year-old played ten times for Wolves in the 2013-14 season as the club were promoted, from League One at the first time of asking.
Ebanks-Landell played fifteen games for Wolves in the 2014-15 season. He became a starter in the 2015-16 season as he played 25 times for the club. However, last season he was allowed to go out on loan to Sheffield United. He helped the Yorkshire based club win League One by a record point total.
It was reported that Sheffield United were still interested in bringing the defender back to Bramall Lane. Chris Wilder said this earlier on in the month ” We have made contact with Wolves.” He added, ” Numbers get banded around, but it’s when players come back for training properly I think things start to happen.”
After the signing was announced the centre-back, had some words to say about his move. He said, ” I’m excited to be here.” He continued “MK Dons are a good club and hopefully, I can help them have a successful season.”
While MK Dons manager Robbie Neilson said ” He’s a very talented player. We beat off a number of clubs including Championship sides, to bring him here.”
Ebanks-Landell becomes MK Dons fifth signing of the summer. MK Dons have already signed Ousseynou Cissé, Conor McGrandles, Peter Pawlett and Wieger Sietsma. Robbie Neilson’s side will be looking for promotion back to the Championship after a two-year absence.
