Sky Bet Championship trio Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bristol City will need to bide their time if they are to battle to sign Chelsea youngster Ike Ugbo on a season-long loan deal.
The 18-year-old London born goal machine is one of The Blues’ brightest academy graduates from their current crop and the player is set to be made available for loan for the upcoming campaign.
Earlier, The72 reported that Sky Bet Championship trio Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bristol City were all plotting moves for the talented young striker however the trio will need to be very patient if they are to succeed and land the player.
Chelsea are set to treat the loan of Ugbo in a similar manner to that of fellow striker Tammy Abraham last season. The former FA Youth Cup winner was sent out on a successful season-long loan to Bristol City and the player bagged 26 goals in 48 appearances for The Robins however the move did not materialise until the eve of the new season.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is likely to want to assess Ugbo during a full pre-season and the Italian is almost certain to allow the youngster to join a Sky Bet Championship club on a season-long loan deal just days before the 2017/2018 campaign begins.
It is believed that Leeds United and Wolves are the favourites to sign the player although Bristol City have built a good reputation with Chelsea over the past 12 months.
