Rotherham United sign second player on loan from Ipswich Town

Rotherham United have signed Josh Emmanuel on loan from Ipswich Town for the season as confirmed by the club website.

The Millers have shown this summer that there may be a positive relationship between both Rotherham and Ipswich. The Millers had already signed Kieffer Moore on loan for the season and now he will be joined at the New York Stadium by another Tractor Boy after Emmanuel also signed for the club on a temporary deal that will last for the season.

Emmanuel is a 19-year-old defender who started his career with West Ham United but moved to Ipswich before making an appearance for the Hammers. He has made 16 appearances for Ipswich since moving to Suffolk and has also had a loan spell with Crawley Town where he has been able to get more first team experience. Now though he will get a chance to test himself with Rotherham as they look to get promoted back to the Sky Bet Championship.

After the signing was completed, his new head coach Paul Warne said: “He is a really good kid,”

“He’s had a good upbringing, he is down to earth but really wants to improve his game. Andy Liddell at Ipswich and Kieffer have told me he is a really good lad. He is a humble kid. He feels privileged that he was born with an ability to do something he enjoys doing. He wants his career to go all he way to the top, which at 19 why shouldn’t it. If he comes here and has an amazing season with us then he will no doubt go on to bigger and better things.”
