Odds slashed on Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United signing Ivory Coast international

The odds on Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday signing Bournemouth’s Max Gradel have been slashed by Sky Bet.

The 29-year-old winger signed for Bournemouth back in 2015 shortly after they were promoted to the Premier League. While he did have some promise in his first few games for the Cherries, he tore a cruciate ligament in his first month of competitive action and would be ruled out for a significant amount of time. While he has since recovered from this injury, he has struggled to break back into the first team.

This is why Gradel has been linked with moves away from Bournemouth this summer as he looks to once again get back to playing regular first team football. Sunderland were the first team to be linked with a move and they still remain the favourites to sign him with the book, being priced at 5/1. But the chances of the Black Cats signing the Ivory Coast international have been reduced slightly as two of their Sky Bet Championship rivals have had their odds on signing him slashed in recent days.

There has been some reports linking both Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday with a move for Gradel, though the links are stronger on the West Yorkshire club’s side as he used to play for them, and that has now been reflected by the bookies. The odds on the Owls signing him are now 6/1, while Leeds have been priced at 9/1. But they aren’t the only teams in the race to sign the former Saint-Etienne man as Hull City and Wolves have also been priced at 12/1 and 20/1 respectively.
