Journalist Tim Nash reports that Ipswich Town are hoping to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson. The same source also reports that Wolves are happy to offload the player and hasn’t travelled on their pre-season camp in Austria.
Although he has been left out, the Express & Star indicates that Bodvarsson’s omission from the travelling party could be an ‘extended break after almost two years of continuous football’. Winger Jordan Graham also hasn’t travelled with the rest of Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad too.
It has already been a big summer of change at Molineux both on and off the pitch. Plenty of new faces have entered the club, most notably in the form of new manager Nuno, and of course record signing Ruben Neves from FC Porto. Will Norris, John Ruddy, Ryan Bennett, Willy Boly, Barry Douglas, Roderick Miranda and Phil Ofosu-Ayeh have joined too. Michal Zyro is closing in on fitness too, which would feel like a new signing. Interestingly, Wolves haven’t signed any new strikers, but Bodvarsson nevertheless seems surplus to requirements.
Speaking on the link, East Anglian Daily Times reporter Stuart Watson believes the 25-year-old forward would fit into Mick McCarthy’s team and style quite nicely. They have yet to truly fill the void left by the departed Daryl Murphy, and although Joe Garner has joined from Rangers, he isn’t really of the same ilk. Bodvarsson isn’t necessarily a carbon copy either, but he is a hard-working type that will run the channels and give his all for the team. The same source also reports that Wolves are more interested in selling the player to recoup as much of the fee they paid for him, but the Tractor Boys want a loan.
#Wolves look set to offload @jondadi with @Official_ITFC in the hunt to sign him on loan. Bodvarsson didn't travel to Austria.

I believe @jondadi has been told he can leave @Wolves. No news on @JordanGr_11 – who also hasn't travelled to Austria – at the mo.
