Barnsley told they must pay £750K for Blackpool midfielder

Barnsley have been told by Blackpool that they must pay £750K if they want to sign Brad Potts according to a report from HITC Sport.

It seems like the bad times are starting to come to an end at Blackpool after they got promoted back to Sky Bet League One after their play-off success last summer. One of the reasons the Tangerines finally got out of their slump was become of Potts, one of their best players last season who was integral as the Lancashire club snatched that final play-off success and made the most of it by beating Exeter City in the final and sealing their promotion.

However this sort of form gets noticed and has led to Barnsley being interested in Potts. They have lost many of their central midfielders recently with Conor Hourihane departing for Aston Villa during the January transfer window while Josh Scowen left this summer on a free transfer to go to QPR. This means they need new players to star in their midfield and with Potts showing such good form for Blackpool in League Two, Barnsley believe he could make the step up and play for them.

Now though Barnsley have been told how much they will have to pay if they want to sign Potts. Blackpool are making sure that if they do end up losing one of their star men that they get plenty of money for him, so have told the Tykes that they will have to pay £750K if they want to sign him. Whether the South Yorkshire club will pay that much remains to be seen.
