Brentford favourite will not be joining Derby County

The 26-year-old Spanish wizard is one of the brightest talents currently playing in the second tier of English football and it comes as no surprise that a number of clubs are chasing his signature.

English Premier League trio Burnley, Newcastle United and West Ham United are all thought to be interested in signing the midfielder while Sky Bet Championship club Derby County are believed to have been leading the race to sign the player.

It has now been reported that at least one transfer offer has been received by Brentford for Jota however Bees boss Dean Smith has confirmed that the West London club will not sell the player to a rival Sky Bet Championship club and the Spaniard will only leave Griffin Park to move to a top flight outfit.

Brentford signed Jota from Celta Vigo in August 2014 for an undisclosed fee. The player has gone on to make 74 appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals. Jota rejoined former club Eibar on an 18-month loan deal in January 2016 as a result of some personal matters back home in Spain however the player was recalled early by Brentford and the player has since made a real impact for The Bees.
