Fulham have signed Ibrahima Cisse from Belgian side Standard Liege for an undisclosed fee as confirmed by the club website.
The Cottagers have been interested in the 23-year-old midfielder for a while now with the club first trying to sign him back in the January transfer window. While they were unable to sign him then and so he couldn’t be part of the first team as they made it into the Sky Bet Championship play-offs, they have finally been able to snap up him and make him a Fulham player in time for next year.
Cisse has now signed a three-year deal with Fulham with the option of another 12 months on top. He will be looking to help the West London club make it back into the play-offs after they lost out in the semi-finals last to Reading. The club are keen to show that them making it into the top six last season was not a fluke and signing players like Cisse is them trying to make sure they are involved in the battle once again.
After he completed his move to Fulham, Cisse said: “I am very happy to be here. It is a great opportunity at Fulham and I am looking forward to showing my qualities and what I can do.”
Cisse has already played in high standard competition despite him still being fairly young. He has been capped several times by the Belgium U21s and played in the Europa League for Standard Liege last season, getting on the score sheet in the group stage against Panathinaikos.
