Hull place improved bid for Cardiff City striker

Hull City have placed a new and improved bid for Cardiff City’s Kenneth Zohore, according to the Mirror.

The 23-year-old has attracted a lot of interest from around the Championship after finishing his season strongly with 12 goals for the Bluebirds last term. Newly-relegated Hull are currently the leading candidates for the signature of Zohore, although Cardiff manager Neil Warnock is reluctant to let his striker leave, “If I’m to have any chance next season, he won’t be going anywhere.

“You can never say never – if someone came in with £20m you can’t say no, I’d even sell Sol Bamba for that who has been just as important.”

The Denmark U21 international initially moved to Wales on a loan deal, before completing a permanent move to the club in 2016 from Belgian side KV Kortrijk. Zohore will no doubt need a break before making a decision on his future at Cardiff, as the youngster’s season only finished last week. The striker was a key man for Denmark in last month’s European U21 Championship in Poland, scoring two goals as the young Danes were knocked out at the group stage of the competition.

Zohore was an important player for the Championship side last term, making 30 appearances, and will be difficult to replace. The Tigers will be looking for an instant return to the Premier League and the second-tier experience of their Cardiff City target may be important.
